VP – Issuer Risk recruitment
This International Investment Bank currently seeks an experienced Credit Risk Manager to be responsible for the local management and direction of all capital markets credit risk management functions within Issuer Risk.
They are also responsible for the underwriting of issuer risk limits and exceptions, with additional responsibilities to include the New/Complex Product Approval Process, limit approval authority and reporting of issuer risk.
The successful candidate will be a specialist for credit trading, distressed trading, and structured trading. The role entails an in-depth understanding of credit products as well as derivatives, and ability to understand the underlying risks involved in various structured transactions.
The key responsibilities include:
- Credit risk management for all Credit Trading businesses with particular focus on Investment Grade, High Yield, Leverage Finance, Mezzanine Loans and 2nd Lien Loans, Distressed Debt, and Non Performing Loan Portfolios,:
- The role includes working with the trading desks, who are engaged in secondary trading, in looking at due diligence, bids (single name and portfolios) and execution of trades under a variety of structures;
- The EMEA Issuer Risk Officer evaluates/assesses risks, obtains trading strategies and provides independent credit oversight/approval/monitoring of trades/trading books;
- They are expected to have a good understanding of credit markets with particular emphasis on market liquidity, risk return, trading strategies and various market and credit drivers.
In terms of experience, you will have:
- Corporate credit analysis background;
- Relevant experience with particular emphasis on credit markets (loans, single name, index, correlation),understanding of leverage finance and high yield products;
- Competency in Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Bloomberg, and ability to quickly learn new systems, programs and applications;
- Good problem-solving skills and must be able to quickly grasp new concepts and make prudent risk/reward decisions;
- Strong organisational, oral and written communication skills, and an ability to demonstrate individual initiative, a sense of urgency, responsiveness, and a desire to grow, learn and take on increasing levels of responsibility;
