VP IT Asset Management recruitment

Background:
IT Asset Management (ITAM) is a framework and set of processes that allows organizations to track and manage the financial, physical, licensing and contractual aspects of IT assets through their life cycle. The goal of ITAM is to enable a visible, dependable account of IT asset costs and risks, providing executive support for IT strategy, architecture, funding and sourcing decisions.
Moody's is seeking to hire a Vice President - IT Asset Management in order to develop and implement an enterprise ITAM strategy.

Key Objectives:
As part of the Procurement organization in the Corporate Services Group, this position is responsible for developing and implementing processes that will allow Moody's to track and manage its IT assets (Software Hardware).
The successful candidate will work closely with his/her counterpart in IT (AVP - IT Asset Master) to start an IT Asset Management initiative from "scratch". The VP position will be expected to provide leadership with regards to process and policy design while the AVP will bear primarily responsibility for implementation of these processes and ensure that the function is supported with efficient tools, procedures and resources.

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility consists of asset process ownership that will enable asset tracking throughout the lifecycle, from Planning to Disposal (software, servers, network equipment, workstations, storage, data center equipment etc..).
The successful candidate must be highly effective and influential in a matrix structure of functional business areas and multi-vendor outsourced IT service providers.
A significant portion of this position will be building the strategy and providing the vision, direction and day to day leadership and continual improvement for the Asset Management Processes.

This position will also be responsible for participating in and establishing an IT asset governance function.
Research industry best practices and compare against organization's practices in order to establish benchmarks for managing assets under control.
Regularly review Asset Management trend and performance data, provide recommendations for service improvements and, where applicable, lead process improvement efforts.
Partners with enterprise functions (e.g., IT, Risk, Sourcing, Legal, Security and Compliance, etc.) to ensure compliance with privacy, security, licensing guides and regulations and is responsible for responding to external 3rd party audits.
Experience and Knowledge
Extensive background, knowledge and ability to deliver end to end Asset Management from pay to disposal, process and operations.
Advanced understanding of service management, specifically Asset Management industry trends, products and services.
Working knowledge and familiarity with software licensing agreements (Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, Adobe, VMWare, etc.) as well as an understanding of how licensing impacts infrastructure-related projects (i.e. Cloud Computing, Unix servers, Desktops, Wintel servers, etc..).

Qualifications
-Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field
-12 or more years of broad technology experience with significant depth in leading Asset Management/Service Management teams and processes
-6 or more years of experience in a leadership role managing people directly and indirectly
-4 or more years of experience managing partner and vendor relationships to achieve business outcomes
-Prior experience in a global enterprise
Experience
