VP of Finance and Operations

Compensation:          $120K-150K + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

 

Description

Global social, political and consumer company is looking for an entrepreneur and dynamic individual with degree (MBA from top school and CPA a +) and 7+ years experience in a financial and operational leadership role, to work closely with the CEO and other senior team members. You will play a key role in developing our growth strategy, as well as lead and strengthen our financial and operational systems so we can continue to grow strongly, support our staff and have a bigger impact on the world’s greatest issues – all while creating a sustainable, economically successful business.

 

You will develop our business models, strategies and business initiatives. Along with other senior leaders, you will also develop our technology and service offerings, our growth, partnerships and brand development. You will be a strategist and a rule maker, not a rule follower.

 

Role Responsibilities

As a key member of the senior team, you will:

·             Steer the financial operations in a period of rapid growth; establish ever-better financial processes and systems; manage cash, audit, and compliance functions and filings.

·             Prepare management and investor reporting; oversee payroll, cash audit, tax and compliance functions and filings;

·             Lead financial and contract negotiations with clients, partners, and vendors; communicate directly with bankers, analysts, vendors etc

·             Oversee a team of operations, finance staff and consultants to ensure that robust accounting and operations processes support growing organizational needs, including in overseas locations.

·             Manage and reduce organizational risk by ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations; liaise with legal counsel.

·             Develop and oversee a world-class set of recruitment, human resources and compensation practices designed to recruit, train and incentivize a nimble, entrepreneurial and highly motivated team; coordinate key staff to make this happen.

·             Play an active role in developing and overseeing our internal work processes, including resource allocation and pricing models.

·             Help us grow our global entities and ensure our corporate structures are well planned, well grounded, and well managed.

·             Foster and develop a culture that values collaboration, quality, and achievement.

 

Qualifications  

·             Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

·             MBA from a Top School a plus. CPA a plus

·             7+ years experience in a finance leadership role within professional services or consulting environment.

·             Strong knowledge of financial and operational management and ability to implement and improve high level internal reporting requirements.

·             Understanding of how to grow Technology driven consumer and social movements on a global level.

·             Strong Professional Services or Agency background: understanding of service models, pricing and service agreements.

·             Strong leadership skills: flexibility, excellent communication skills, planning and organization skills, and the desire to empower and develop those who report to the position.

·             An experienced leader, having already helped a growing startup move to maturity, with a demonstrated track record of building scale.

·             Able to translate goals into rapid action, solving problems and building systems simultaneously. You will need to be able to roll up sleeves and get work done.

·             An experienced and adept manager of very smart, multidisciplinary teams

·             A confident and sophisticated communicator, presenter and writer.

·             Have highly developed financial and analytical skills, ideally with an MBA or similar credentials from a top school.

 

Bonus if you have:

·           Strong experience in an agency, consulting or client-services business

·            A sophisticated understanding of technology and experience building technology businesses or products
