VP of Finance – PBM

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Execute on all financial contract commitments embodied in the PBM Services Agreement, as well as direct client contracts.

 

·         Develop budget objectives and forecast PL and cash flow performance targets.  Track and monitor actual performance.  Implement financial and operational changes in coordination with the operations leader as needed to achieve strategic, financial and operational objectives.

 

·         Communicate financial performance to internal stakeholders through book of business updates and presentations.  Ensure internal shared service partners have actionable intelligence and clearly articulated mandates on performance goals and gaps (where applicable).

 

·         Identify, develop and implement profit maximizing initiatives through all available levers.  Responsible for ensuring financial targets are achieved and financial risks are appropriately managed.

 

·         Identify key trends impacting financial and operational performance.  Responsible for all financial analytics.

 

·         In collaboration with MCO Divisional leadership and the account sales team, provide pricing guidance and analytical support to enable growth in health plan pharmacy membership.

 

·         Serves as the clients’ financial consultant on all pharmacy benefit matters.  Works collaboratively with the client’s finance and actuary team to develop market competitive pharmacy pricing.

 

·         Accountable for all financial operations, whether through shared service model or directly managed, for clients including MAC management, rebates management,  etc. 

 

·         Review and approve pharmacy payments.  Develop a pharmacy risk management program to ensure appropriate financial oversight of pharmacy network.  Ensure pharmacies are being paid and managed in accordance with underlying pharmacy contracts.

 

·         Manage and oversee pharmaceutical manufacturer invoicing and collections through in-house rebate division.  Ensure timely and accurate remittance of collected rebates to clients.  Coordinate and identify formulary change opportunities with clinical analytics and rebate analytics team to position book of business for optimal rebate yields.

 

·         Manage, train and mentor finance staff.

 

·         Assist CFO of MCO Division with ad hoc analyses, special projects, or other corporate initiatives (as needed).

 

·         Exhibits compliant and ethical behavior in the performance of job responsibilities, including complying with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, Catalyst Health Solutions Code of Conduct, Business Ethics Policies and Procedures and other policies and procedures applicable to position. 

 

·         Actively participates in Catalyst Health Solutions Compliance and Ethics Program, including attending annual compliance and ethics training and reporting suspected violations of the law or Catalyst Health Solutions policies and procedures via Catalyst Health Solutions Procedures for Reporting Incidents of Possible Improper Employment Practices, Misconduct, or Improper Financial/Accounting Practices.  

 

·         Travel as needed.

 

BASE QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Minimum Education:  Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics

·         Educational Preference:  Master of Business Administration or other relevant graduate level degree

·         Exceptional analytical skills

·         Strong business acumen and judgment
