Our Client is looking for a VP of Technology Strategy Architecture to join their team in Dublin 2. The person is required to align technology vision with business strategy and product development by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies. The VP, Technology Strategy Architecture is also responsible for developing and implementing technology initiatives and managing our product development team. Duties Responsibilities:
Participate as needed in Pre-Sales meetings in various locations.
Participate as a member of the senior management team in governance processes of the organization's architecture, platforms and content.
Create processes of direction and control to ensure objectives are achieved, risks are managed and our development resources are used responsibly.
Lead strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies and products.
Develop and communicate business/technology/product alignment plans to executive team, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders.
Further define or redefine our development methodology.
Review our current practices for the selected frameworks and re-establish the architecture for the application as needed.
Establish and supervise the software development process, setting short-term objectives and assessing progress as defined by the selected software development methodology.
Conduct research to remain knowledgeable in regards to industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and products.
Analyze and improve upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market.
Ensure continuous delivery of our services through oversight of service level agreements and monitoring of systems, programs, and equipment performance.
Ensure equipment and software adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
Ensure technology standards and best practices are maintained.
Ensure company technical problems are resolved creatively, independently and in a timely and cost-effective manner
Supervise recruitment, training, retention, and organization of all development staff in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements.
Establish standards of performance and monitor conformance for staff through performance reviews.
Oversee the evolution and development of our technology platform infrastructure.
Hire and manage development team, anticipate needs and issues and measure results.
Skills and Experience:
M.Sc. in Computer Science or B.S. and equivalent experience
Leadership ability with technical staff
10+ yrs experience in a software development or coding environment with experience in open source technologies (.Net OR Java environment)
5+ yrs experience managing and/or directing technological operations.
5+ yrs managing web based software development teams, including interviewing, skill
Excellent understanding of project management principles.
Proven experience in technology planning, organization, and development.
Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues.
Demonstrated ability to envision web-based products and services that meet consumer needs or solve business problems.
Experience with multiple operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Solaris and Mac OS
Experience coding in more than one currently popular web application framework.
Familiar with more than one software development methodology.
Ability to discern user requirements and develop specifications.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - forecast requirements accurately and stay within budget while producing and eliciting high-quality results (Advantageous).
