VP Operational Risk – Investment Banking recruitment
Our client has recognized the need to tighter controls and processes and values the importance of Risk Management, due to this we have a newly created headcount for a VP Operational Risk to be based in their Hong Kong office. This is an exciting opportunity and will allow you to work closely with the Investment Banking business covering Global Markets and Global Banking.
We are open to candidates with a Risk Management background, Internal Audit or Compliance background that values the importance or risk. This is an exciting opportunity to sink your teeth into a dynamic role where you value add to the business. In this position you will be responsible for covering the Asia Pacific region and be working closely with the Business in improving their controls and embedding a robust risk management framework.
The ORM division is an independent function and you will be responsible for the implementation of the Operational Risk Framework across business divisions. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing an independent and objective assessment of Operational Risk arising in the bank
- Assessing whether functions have clear set standards and responsibilities where business processes cover multiple functions
- Providing independent reviews
- Escalating all high and critical operational risks
- Testing the effectiveness of the Internal Controls Assessment Process conducted by the business and functions
- Assessment of New Business Initiatives
- Ad-Hoc Projects
- Reporting
To assume this position you will possess a minimum of 7+ years professional working experience; demonstrated a background within operational risk, internal audit, internal controls or compliance; experience in Global Markets / Investment Banking background, strong clear and concise written and verbal communication skills (English); ability to work autonomously and within a team environment; strong influencing and negotiation skills.
