Our client is a European leader in wholesale banking with expanding businesses across Asia. There is now a newly created role due to change in locational dynamics for an experienced VP, Group Operational Risk for Trade and Cash (Transactional Banking) to be based in Singapore.
You drive the deployment of the group wide operational risk framework into Trade Product and Transaction Services and ensure that the ORM programmes are managed within the framework as set by the Global ORM teams. You understand internal and external issues/priorities that contribute to the operational risk profile and ensure appropriate plans are developed to manage and mitigate these. You promote awareness around operational risks through effective relationship management and forum attendance and ensure that the operational risk policies are deployed and training provided. Instigate concrete initiatives aimed at reducing and preventing operational risk incidents and losses and learning from past experiences. Ensure that processes operated by Operational Risk are efficient and effective in achieving their aims. These include amongst others new products, event escalation, risk assessment, significant change and policy framework self certification. Maintain market awareness on key changes impacting the business. This is a highly visible role where you work closely with the global heads and front office.
Working experience in operational risk, control or audit function. Knowledge of trade or cash behaviours and products and knowledge of regulatory requirements with respect to ORM. Possess good business sense and planning abilities; with strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to face off with senior managers and executives.
