VP, Petroleum Distribution
Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and guides the strategic direction of sales, marketing, trucking, dispatch, and terminal operations for a business unit with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability as well as day-to-day leadership and management in Alaska. Manages division operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies. Implements programs and processes to ensure attainment of business plan for growth, profit, and workflow optimization. Develops and creates strategies and policies aligned with company goals. Provides mentoring and guidance to employees. Responsible for overall management to achieve customer satisfaction. Oversees development of policies and procedures. Reviews operating results to ensure budgeted goals are achieved and expenses controlled. Establishes annual revenue, capital and cost budgets. Has profit and loss responsibility. Maximize efficiencies while ensuring that cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. Assess equipment needs, maintenance operations, and completion of capital requirements, planning and administration, safety, and cost management. Remain current on industry trends and provide strategic recommendations to management. May coordinate and negotiate outside contractor and service provider alliances/agreements; may operate in multiple locations; and may interface/coordinate with other company functions such a legal, labor relations, risk management, marine operations, cross functional teams etc. Develops and maintains business relations with customer base. Maintains awareness of the competitive landscape, growth opportunities, and new industry developments and standards. Ensures the principles of health, safety, and environment are practiced and address shortcomings. Employees are accountable to management and each other to ensure every task is done safely in accordance with Management Systems or business unit procedures with the objective of continuously improving our processes. Revenue responsibility is generally less than $50,000,000. Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health. May work outside in conditions of both hot and cold temperatures and may be exposed to odors, dust, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Ability to travel, work long hours to meet project deadlines, and carry a cell phone to respond promptly when needed.
