VP – Project Management, Basel 2, Investment Bank recruitment
The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the success of the project. Success is measured against time, cost and quality criteria.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for Project planning, steering and execution of projects
- Track project progress against agreed milestones and re-plan when necessary
- Manage the project team, identify resource requirements and, with the programme manager, procure required resources as needed
- Ensure financial accountability against approved budget
- Deliver projects to agreed quality standards
- Prepare and chairs regular meetings for progress review with stakeholders
- Provide regular programme transparency
- Manage negotiations and prioritisation effectively
- Identify risks and issues and defines actions to mitigate; escalates issues as appropriate
With a track record of delivering large scale projects in a complex banking environment, you will have approximately 7-10 years total experience with preferably at least 5-7 years project management experience. You must have an understanding / experience of the Basel 2 accord and the reporting requirements across market, credit and operational risk. Candidates with a project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMI) are preferred.
Candidates with exposure to any of the following will be considered: Basel 2 implementation; general ledger implementation in a bank; trade warehouse implementation in a bank; head office reporting system implementation; local reporting system implementation.
