VP, Project Manager recruitment

Responsibilities
The VP, Project Manager will be part of the Moody's Ratings Business Solutions group representing a key leadership role in the delivery of IT projects and programs. The individual in this role will serve in a hands on capacity and will be responsible for end to end project lifecycle management with a focus on solution delivery in support of strategic product roadmaps and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage complex IT projects and programs which are broad in scope, interdependent, high risk, high impact, have medium to long term implementation time frames and are cross functional. Project teams typically include onshore, offshore, internal, external and managed services resources.
- Scope and project planning, progress tracking and reporting, change control, communication management, resource management, metrics development and tracking, issue management, risk management, quality assurance, change management, finance management, executive reporting
- Effectively communicate with key program stakeholders on progress
- Establish credibility with all levels of IT management and business stakeholders
- Apply expertise across the complete project lifecycle, lead project sessions such as estimation, scheduling/planning within an iterative development (RUP, Agile) framework. Lend broad and deep credibility during discussions because of past experience. Serve as mentor/coach to others on the team in this capacity.
- Encourage the active use of a strong risk management framework with the project teams and stakeholders.
- Utilize negotiation skills to drive project team and executives to make decisions in a timely manner in order to deliver project as to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality.
- Escalate and course correct
- Demonstrate commitment to and ensure team adherence to Enterprise Project Governance model and project data integrity as defined within the Investment Framework including; PDLC, internal controls and SOX controls.
- Set the direction for the project team. Ensure respectful communications by creating an atmosphere of collaboration and iterative improvements, inspiring people and teamwork, and welcoming change by team engagement of planning and problem solving. Be conscious of team behavior and contribute constructive feedback to line managers for annual Performance Evaluation.
- Actively participate in advancing and maturing the project management practice by applying experience and best-practices for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The position requires the following experience/skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. PMP Certification is desirable.
- At least 10 to 12 years experience in various aspects of systems development and implementation with a minimum of 8 years in a Project Manager position.
- Excellent and purposefully demonstrated understanding of the Project Lifecycle and the inherent responsibilities as a project manager utilizing industry standard methodologies; waterfall, iterative (Agile, RUP).
- Consulting-style approach to working with leaders, aligning objectives, and forging solutions
- Experience in assessing health of large projects and programs and proposing corrective courses of action.
- Proven experience and record of leading large IT projects and programs with budgets of $5M-$10M+ USD.
- Proven leader with outstanding interpersonal, communication, and effective relationship building skills at all levels within an organization. Known as a trusted advisor.
- Proven organizational, leadership and management skills
- Proven ability to create and present written and verbal communications that are audience appropriate.
- Ability to quickly and effectively adjust priorities and goals in changing circumstances.
- Ability to analyze and challenge current working methods to create improvements in processes and result. Strong change agent and champion of key change efforts across broader IT organization and ability to create clarity where ambiguity exists.
- Self-directed, adaptable, flexible, and forward thinking.
- Broad knowledge of capital markets and the role that Moody's Corporation plays within them.
