To this end, Finance now has its own team of change professionals who are working on streamlining systems and processes.

Role Description

The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the success of the project. Success is measured against time, cost and quality criteria that are agreed at the initiation phase of the project with the project sponsor. Projects will typically deliver technology and/or process change into one or more of the Global Business Services product areas.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Project planning, steering and execution of single workstream within a larger Project or Programme or small scale projects

• Tracks project progress against agreed milestones and re-plans when necessary

• Manages the project team, identifies resource requirements and, with the programme manager, procures required resources

• Ensures financial accountability against approved budget

• Delivers projects to agreed quality standards

• Prepares and chairs regular meetings for progress review with stakeholders

• Provides regular programme transparency by reporting project status via appropriate tools such as project dashboards and Sharepoint

• Manages negotiations and prioritisation effectively

• Identifies risks and issues and defines actions to mitigate; escalates issues as appropriate

Requirements

• Project Management Training /or relevant practical experience

• Must have experience of the basal 2 implementation and the reporting requirements across the market, credit and operational risk

• Proven Project Management track record

• Background in the Investment Banking Industry domain

• Relevant experience in one or more specific technical areas

• Good analytical skills, able to demonstrate flexibility regarding problem solving

• Good communication skills, fluent in English and local language (written/verbal) as appropriate

• Excellent team worker, able to work in global virtual teams in a matrix organization

• Ability to work in fast paced environment

• Open minded, able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members

• Degree level /or relevant practical experience
