VP – Regional Credit Review Manager – Bahrain – Corporate Banking recruitment
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring good quality corporate loans and other risk assets, by evaluating the credit risk of new business and by the on-going risk review of existing assets.
Responsibilities:
• Review credit applications on a regular basis to strict standards of quality, quantity, and turnaround times; provide structuring and risk guidance to the business units and work closely with the business teams in managing the banks portfolio of assets.
• Evaluate credit risk (financial, transactional and other) relating to new corporate business proposals and to advise the Head Office Credit Committee (and Board if necessary) through succinct presentations so that the bank can pursue risk-conscious business with timely decision-making.
• Review credit risk (financial/transactional) at least annually relating to existing business continuing on the bank’s books, to confirm that credit risk remains acceptable and authorise renewal for the continuation of existing credit limits.
• Evaluate country risk (economic /political) using all available sources in order to assist the HOCC in setting prudent group country limits (bearing in mind business requirements as well as risk diversification/control).
• Undertake portfolio studies of credit risks within a unit, industry or economic sector to control and evaluate risk on a portfolio basis to enable management to review and control unacceptable concentrations. Where and when appropriate, work with the Economist to enhance these portfolio studies.
Requirements:
• A good degree in business administration or other financial discipline such as professional Banking/accounting diploma etc.,
• Extensive experience of core banking (Corporate Banking/Credit) in the GCC.
• Superior analytical/investigative skills.
• Strong accounting and banking knowledge.
• People management and relationship skills.
• Fluent in English
