VP – Regulatory Liaison

Top Investment Bank based in Canary Wharf - London, requires an Executive Director to lead the Bank's relationship with the Financial Conduct Authority, Prudential Risk Authority and US regulators such as the OCC and Fed.

The Firm is a household name in global banking and as a consequence has a significant voice in global financial and economic affairs. The Executive Director will build relationships with senior stakeholders at key regulators to ensure that the bank's message / responses are provided with clarity, transparency and fairness in respect of the bank's commercial agenda.

Responsibilities of the role will include (amongst others):

* Work in partnership with the Head of Compliance to manage regulatory relationships globally
* Work closely with the Bank's Senior Management team to ensure a uniform response to Regulator requests for information.
* Support the Heads of Business by ensuring that regulatory change is communicated effectively throughout the Bank and the appropriate programmes are in place for adoption.
* Assist or lead the Bank's presentations to regulators on acquisitions, mergers or restructuring of the Bank's operations.
* Oversee the regulatory licensing function for the Bank's legal entity structure - ensuring they are up to date and in line with the group's strategy.
* Provide compliance support in relation new business initiatives and guidance on setting up the legal entity structure.

The Candidate:

* You will have at least 10 year's experience in Banking Compliance and at least 5 years in a Regulatory Development or Regulatory Liaison function
* You must have extensive knowledge of the UK, EU and Global Regulatory directives that affect the Bank.
* Outstanding communication skills with the confidence to conduct presentations to large audiences and/or Board level.
* Excellent relationship building skills
* Strong mentoring skills to junior members of the team
* The ability to think strategically - focusing on the impacts of regulatory change and how they will affect the Bank's operations
