VP – Regulatory Risk and Control recruitment
Main Function
The Risk and Regulatory Business Manager will support the Firm's initiative to mitigate Regulatory Financial risk by overseeing a centralized team within the Operations division. The individual will be responsible for managing the day to day governance of balance sheet integrity / assets at risk, regulatory controls and management reporting associated with these topics. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for remediation projects as required to ensure any gaps and/or inefficiencies are addressed and made aware to senior management.
Main Duties
Support and further develop a robust governance structure that ensures integrity of the balance sheet and regulatory control processes. Provide management with timely reporting of control performance and risks. .
- Ensure partnership with business aligned shared operations in an effort to remedy risks associated with operations processes with particular focus on balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee processes to ensure regulatory compliance for Abandoned Property, 17a-13 and other regulatory controls
- Oversee staff responsible for the Fulfillment Project which focuses on regulatory compliance in relation to Prospectus, Confirmation and Statement delivery
- Supervise the process by which related issues and root causes are identified and tracked • Identify strategic fixes for recurring trends and ensure changes are tested thoroughly
- Develop KPIs and MIS reports for Senior Management
- Conduct senior management sessions including the monthly Legal Entity Review with the Head of Business Aligned Operations
- Liaise with Audit, Compliance, Legal, Technology, Sales Trading and outside Regulators
- Interface with Technology and the Business to ensure that control framework remains compliant with existing and future business regulatory requirements
- Gather and confirm interpretation of new and/or changing policies and procedures, develop and maintain the policies and procedures manual
Person Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- 8+ years financial services experience
- Prior experience analyzing complex workflow methodologies
- The ability to pass the Series 99 Registration exam, if applicable to the function of this role
