Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving / expanding specialty carve out programs within OptumHealth Care Solutions. Current specialty carve out programs include transplant and infertility, and we plan to expand that to other areas such as orthopedics and cancer. This position will reviews product performance against expectations and facilitates or influences changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance. May work with internal or external business constituents to determine product future direction or respond to product inquiries. May be project-based and involve working within multiple product functions.

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or General Business
- Healthcare industry experience required
- 10+ years of progressive experience within a sophisticated, matrix organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage people and prioritize deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly analytic nature to understand medical claims and outcomes data
- History of managing a fast growing, material business unit of $100M++
- Proven ability to present credibly at industry conferences and be the face of the program in the marketplace
- Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
- Product development experience, including being comfortable in the marketplace creating product awareness and serving as the SME in joint sales efforts with the sales function
- Background with complex insurance products
- Experience working with industry consultants, brokers, and direct payors (health plans, employers), second dollar payors strongly preferred
- Familiarity with regulatory issues with insured products, reinsurance, and direct risk
