VP – Sanctions Advisory

A globally recognised Investment Bank seeks a Sanctions advisory at a VP level. You will be covering the EMEA Region, assisting the Head of Sanctions in the management of risk, handling of complex queries and assisting with Sanctions risk assessments.

The Role:

Ensuring that the bank stays within Sanctions regulation outlined by UK, EU and OFAC guidelines. The nature of their business and scope of the coverage places sanctions at the heart of their Financial Crime programme, and the successful candidate will need strong regulatory knowledge.

The main responsibilities include:
1. To provide oversight of the sanctions programme, assisting with the development of internal controls in relation to existing and upstream sanctions regulation
2. To act as a subject matter expert on sanctions for any queries escalated through the business
3. Assurance – to ensure that the relevant sanctions policies are being correctly and effectively implemented across the region, with due consideration to Group policy and local regulatory standards
4. To lead investigations into suspicious transactions
5. To assist with an annual risk assessment for the bank’s sanctions exposure
.
The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have a strong Financial Crime advisory background, preferably with experience of Investment Banking products.
