About Futures
GMOMO Futures provides operational support on exchange traded futures, ranging from metals, Cocoa, Equities, Debt and Interest Rate products. Historically the exchange was a physical location where participants met, trading face to face, using hand signals, wearing their house colours, known as open outcry. This dynamic industry is now largely computerised and continues to grow at a rapid pace, the events surrounding the Lehman collapse has led to political pressure for products traded bi-laterally to now be listed on centralised exchanges.
Job Description
- Provide direction on the best way to process new business initiatives (i.e. new futures exchanges, OTC clearing reform, client requests, etc.) effecting the operations function
- Improve the efficiency and control aspects of the operations clearing team
- Create new management reporting metrics to assist in the tracking of key control, defect, revenue, or cost measures
- Manage small-large projects for the operations function or listed derivates clearing business unit
- Act as a liaison between operations, technology, front office (sales/trading), regulators, clearing houses and exchanges
- Help prioritize competing demands placed on the global operations clearing team
- Work closely with all operations clearing teams globally
Required Skills
- Futures industry experience working for either an FCM, exchange, clearinghouse, or regulator
- Strong project management and business analysis skills
- Ability to get the best out of others without a direct reporting relationship
- Ability to communicate effectively both with peers and Senior Management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; great time management skills
- Ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities
- Strength in identifying and implementing solutions for process improvement
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Word, Access
Desired Skills
- Experience using Sungard GMI system
- Six Sigma certification
- French / German Business Language
