VP / SVP, Direct Investments (Natural Resources) recruitment

Job Description:

Will be involved in sourcing, evaluating and executing investments in minority private equity, buyouts, mezzanine, and structured capital transactions, as well as portfolio management, board membership, and exit.
Build relationships with a wide variety of internal and external counterparties.
Select and progress attractive natural resources investment opportunities efficiently and expeditiously.
Manage negotiations, deal structuring and pricing, due diligence processes, and legal closings.
Attend board meetings, interact with management and other investors on a regular basis, work on ongoing strategic initiatives in the companies, and develop exit plans.
Be part of special projects within the firm as assigned from time to time.
Assist in the development of team members.

Requirements:

Graduate / post graduate of highly reputed institution with exceptional experience.
MBA from reputed institution / ivy league school and/or CFA with MSc (Mining Engineering) or equivalent.
8-15+ years of work experience in any or combination of the following: Private equity fund / principal investing organisation, Leading investment banking / strategy consultancy firms / MA advisory, Corporate MA or business development units with focus on the natural resource sector.
Experience in working on and closing Asian deals, particularly in the area of natural resources.
Very strong commercial judgment as well as deal sourcing, structuring, negotiation, execution, closing skills in direct investments.
Experience in preparing and defending investment papers helpful.
Ability to lead and supervise deal teams of 3-4 people, manage external consultants and handle internal deal approval process.
Ability to concurrently manage 2 to 3 live projects.
Ability to oversee and manage portfolio companies.
Proficiency in the Chinese and other Asian languages is a preferred.
