Role Summary/Purpose

Enhance brand/value proposition and help focus commercial efforts in Media Telecom and select Consumer segments by providing independent, insightful, timely and innovative ideas and analysis to GE Capital’s various business platforms, customers and prospects. Leverage industry acumen to help mitigate portfolio risk and speed underwriting.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide customers prospects with industry insights and forecasts communicated via various media including written research publications, blogs/social media, industry webinars, conference presentations and customer/prospect meetings. Should be viewed as public-side "industry expert" both internally and externally.

Provide industry “deep dive” analysis related to strategic growth initiatives into new or underpenetrated industries/segments.

Help direct sales on where best to focus their commercial efforts via industry “strike-zone” analysis and prospect prioritization. Forward potential financing related leads to the field.

Educate sales, marketing, risk and senior leadership regarding key industry trends and developments. Become “center of excellence” source for industry intelligence/opinion. Develop and maintain metrics and information flows on the key drivers that influence industry performance, and business viability.

Provide unbiased industry expertise in support off deal execution and portfolio management.

Qualifications/Requirements Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years’ of experience in Media and/or Telecom industries.

Eligibility Requirements:

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 19 OF THE FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE ACT.

Desired Characteristics

Minimum 8 year’s financial services experience, with last 5 years in industry research or risk analysis

Previous experience with competitive intelligence, market research or financial analysis. Buy-side or sell-side industry research background is ideal

ECLP graduate desired

MBA or CFA preferred.

Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize significant amounts of data and identify trends and patterns

Resourcefulness with the ability to uncover difficult to find information

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Master’s degree in marketing, statistics, economics or finance

Leisure/Consumer product industry exposure a plus.

Analytical and strategic skills, with ability to understand multiple industries and dissect opportunities

Dynamic interpersonal style with strong written and oral communication skills and ability to package ideas in a persuasive and impactful manner

Appetite for knowledge and information, strong investigative research skills

Excellent strategic thinker who can also translate strategies into concrete actions tactical plans

Exceptional communication, facilitation, presentation, project management and organizational skills; ability to work across functions and organizational boundaries

Possesses analytical and strategic skills, with ability to understand multiple industries and dissect opportunities.
