About the Job
Vice Presidents will be responsible for the development of investor relationships with banks, finance companies and institutional investors, with emphasis on those investors focused on real estate/corporate transactions. Responsible for all facets of syndication of credit facilities on major bank relationships: 1) Proposal Stage - market screen investors for new amended transactions; 2) Mandate Stage - prepare investor invitee list, supply /demand analysis, develop tiers fees with Originations; 3) In Market Stage - manage the ongoing interaction with investors, record all investor feedback, keep updated investor probabilities and expected commitments; 4) Trading support trading efforts.
Direct internal resources to meet client needs and manage the process of executing syndicated transactions.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for the origination and structuring of Syndicated Finance products and services to borrowers
- Develop and maintain important client relationships and generate revenues from these relationships
- Articulate/demonstrate our organizations value to customers in terms of customers¿ financial strategies and measures
- Identify ways that our organization's product, sales and service units work together to deliver value; Search actively for ways in which they can contribute to customer profitability
- Keep abreast of emerging customer trends; Gather information to understand customer strategies and their view of market opportunities
- Assist with the maintenance of a database on investors, their appetites, deal structure preference, deals Key participates in, or reviews from other agents (internal and external resources), etc.
- Modify proposals or plans to deal with customers' concerns and incorporate customers suggestions
- Develop and maintain strong internal partnerships and generate revenues from these partnerships
- Identify opportunities for Syndicated Finance within Key's client and prospect portfolio
- Represent Syndication's perspective in credit approval meetings and prepare Distribution Risk Analysis memos
- Partner with RMs and PMs to structure loan originations for syndicated debt market; Prepare and negotiate deal structures with RMs
- Orchestrate internal resources to meet client needs and manage the process of executing syndicated transactions
- Fully engage Syndicated Finance partners in Distribution and Trading
- Serve as the key leader for client quality and service; Act decisively to implement solutions and resolve crisis, and follows up to assure resolution
- Gain insight on successes and challenges through client and partner feedback
- Engage internal partners in deal debriefs to discover opportunities to improve
- Network inside and outside of our company to broaden business knowledge base and to increase personal effectiveness
- Involvement in industry related associations; Maintain an established network within the financial community
- Provide technical and developmental support to more junior individuals on the team
- Executes strategy within corporate guidelines and policies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 5 years lending experience
- Understanding of or experience in Capital Markets
- Database of contacts that participate in real estate/corporate loans
- Strong credit skills; analytical expertise; writing proficiency; strong client service/interpersonal skills; strong communication skills, computer competency; negotiation and persuasion capabilities; ability to work without extensive supervision.)
