VP Trade Sales recruitment

Role

A leading Bank is currently seeking an experienced professional to maximise the Bank’s earnings through the sale of international commodity trade finance related products and Services. The successful candidate will need to proactively develop new relationships to capture the international commodity trade business; ensuring new income streams are sustainable. The candidate will support the establishment of strong, long term relationships in conjunction with the Business Relationship Manager based either in Singapore or/and in the regional network.

Furthermore, the individual will be expected to identify, promote and support business development opportunities across the Asian region, with an emphasis on Chinese cross border trade flows as well as delivering solutions to new and existing customers using new and/or existing international commodity trade products.

Ultimately, the role holder will be helping to ensure that the Bank adopts a balanced approach to commodity business advising upon and helping implement best practices and providing close support and advice to relevant stakeholders in matters relating to the finance of commodities.

Sales 

•  Selling of both complex and vanilla International Commodity Trade related products with a focus on end–to-end regional commodity finance solutions. Identification and prioritization of target clients.

•  Work with the coverage sales teams to understand segment customer needs, identify the most valuable customers and create customised product service propositions

•  Develop links with other group company and product areas to maximise cross selling opportunities.

•  Co-ordinate TO and global GTS support/involvement in sales where required.

•  Maintenance of sanctioned facilities for the customer portfolio.

Support and Advisory                    

•  Ability to articulate transactional risks

•  Knowledge of foreign exchange regulations

•  Full understanding of Trade Services matters as regards operations and process

Requirements

•  In depth knowledge of International Commodity Trade product range including competitor offering

•  Excellent sales skills

•  Strong knowledge of International Trade operations and UCP

•  Strong working knowledge of connected services, i.e. Liabilities, GFM (including hedging solutions).

•  Understanding of IBG Business objectives and strategies.

•  Good working knowledge of Pricing/Costing/Volume/Quality relationships.

•  Fluency in Mandarin or Bahasa Indonesia would be an advantage
