VP/Director- Institutional Asset Gathering (buy side) recruitment

Based in Kuala Lumpur and reporting to the South East Asia Head of Institutional Sales, you will have the following responsibilities:

Principal Responsibilities:

The role will require the individual to work closely with colleagues in the firm regionally and globally, as well as other divisions of the firm, to strengthen relationships and develop business opportunities with corporates, financials, government institutions and regulators.
Coordinating with the regional Institutional sales team to drive the expansion of existing relationships in Malaysia and longer term in select South East Asian countries.
Develop relationships with prospective corporate, financial (banking and insurance) clients that have investible assets or are seeking partners to develop products for their end clients.
Ensure the appropriate level of post sales client support is given to clients, working with sales support and analysts within the region, as well as product managers within the portfolio management teams.
Work with the team's sales support and other various internal teams on the successful completion of Request for Proposals, Pitch Presentations, Client Events and other sales related priorities.
Stay abreast of the firm's products and to champion the internal communication and self education of these products.

Experience / Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent communications skills in English and Bahasa
Familiarity and fluency with financial markets and investing frameworks including valuation
Relevant experience in a sales or similar role, existing relationships with strategically important clients would be a strong advantage. We would definitely consider candidates from an investment management/product management background, looking to move into an asset gathering capacity
Candidates from consulting firms will also be considered
Understanding of the investment management industry
Strong sense of teamwork
Self motivated and able to work at a fast pace.
