VP/Director Level Low-Latency/High-Frequency C++Software Engineer/ Algorithmic Developer
JOB DESCRIPTION
A leading HFT proprietary trading desk within a tier-1 investment bank who focus on cross-asset high-frequency trading are seeking a mid-senior level, hands-on C++ Software Engineer to join their New York City team. After exponential growth due to recent and continued success, the team is looking to add to their experienced and dynamic development team ASAP.
This individual in will be a part of a small trading group and will work directly with quant trading teams to design, build, and enhance truly cutting-edge trading systems/enhance algorithmic trading strategies. It’s a hands-on role and will require understanding of complex data structures and algorithms. As an experienced developer, you will be expected to wear multiple hats of responsibility in what will be a very multifaceted role. The team is also looking to for people with strong architectural capabilities as a new low-latency platform is being prepared for rollout.
Your duties will range from:
- Liaise with traders and developers to articulate and engineer 1st class development solutions
- Research, development and implementation a high quality trading platform
- Optimizing trading strategy code
- Architect the next generation of the development platform, reviewing new technologies and suggesting scalable solutions
- Participate in design sessions and code reviews
- Work on cross-functional teams
- Mentor junior developers
- Solve complex problems, and troubleshoot issues
- Be capable of wearing “multiple hats” of responsibility
Your experience will include:
- 3-15 years experience in developing applications in C++
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Practical use of multi-threaded / multi-core programming paradigms
- Object oriented design and programming libraries (STL, BOOST etc.)
- Computer Science or equivalent degree required
- Exposure to unit testing is a plus
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Python advantageous
- High capability with concepts of TCP/IP protocols
- Ability to lead a team and inspire junior members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Key Words: Leading Tier-1 Investment Bank seeks senior hands-on High-Frequency C++ Electronic trading developer. Experience as a real-time developer/software engineer in C++ essential. Duties will range from low-latency trading platform design, hardcore coding of electronic trading strategies in C++ and business road-mapping the next generation of development architecture. Experience working with real-time systems in C++ is a prerequisite. You will be vital in the design and maintenance of the proprietary high-frequency trading platform in C++. Software Engineers from outside finance (particularly gaming, Google, Twitter,IBM/Microsoft) are encouraged to apply.
