VP/Director
As a senior hire in this position your main responsibility will be to assist senior management to ensure that the bank and its subsidiaries operate in accordance with all local regulatory requirements. You will be providing advice to Country and Business heads to ensure that they establish and monitor appropriate arrangements for meeting regulatory obligations and support the Head of Commercial Banking to review and seek to enhance the group’s relationships with its regulators. You will be actively involved in designing policies and procedures to report, eliminate or minimize the risk of breaches of regulatory requirements and undertake periodic review of Bank’s policies and procedures to spot defects and remedying the same. The role requires you to handle regulatory exams and/or enquiries and carry out regulatory investigations and assist the Head of Compliance to sign off on product programmes in relation to compliance issues.
To be eligible for this position you must be a relevant degree holder with at least 8-10years of Compliance experience gained at a large bank. You should have had exposure to some type of product compliance (Equities, treasury or Interest rates) and have excellent knowledge and exposure to local regulatory requirements. Prior interactions and relationship with HKMA is a significant advantage. You must be able to work independently and deal with senior business personnel and stakeholders regionally, which includes being involved in critical meetings related to products, advising on compliance related matters and implementing changes where required etc. You should have excellent communication skills, fluent written and spoken English is a must and Chinese an advantage.
