Description
Capital One is seeking a Vice President for the Special Opportunities group. This individual will develop and implement special opportunities strategies to (i) identify strategic portfolio acquisition opportunities, (ii) source business development opportunities for the Commercial and Specialty Finance business within Capital One, and (iii) mitigate risks associated with the Commercial and Specialty Finance portfolio. Line of business examples within the Commercial and Specialty Finance business include healthcare, security and technology.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Develop and source opportunities for the Commercial and Specialty Finance business within Capital One. This will include sourcing opportunistic investments within the Commercial and Specialty Finance business footprint. Specifically, this will entail sourcing individual loans and investments, as well as portfolio acquisition opportunities.
- Devise and negotiate workout plans for problem loans within the Commercial and Specialty Finance business, while also managing the completion, submission, presentation, approval, documentation, execution, and monitoring of Problem Loan
- Reports/Asset Disposition Plans that provide the analysis of credit, collateral and local/regional market conditions for approval by Senior Management.
- Meets with customers as needed to support Special Assets activities, monitors financial performance and monitor adherence to repayment programs.
- Develops plans to minimize credit risk while maintaining compliance with Bank Lending Policy, Special Assets Policy and OCC regulations.
- Performs underwriting analysis and documentation review to determine loss exposure on credit.
- Portfolio Management - Lead asset management through project monitoring, borrower communication and negotiations, asset liquidation, third-party service provider engagement and communication, networking, report/file management, and documentation.
- Coordinate and administer appropriate regulatory compliance and legal actions to maximize recovery of bank assets.
- Direct completion of market analyses to support problem loan workout strategies.
- Provide conclusions, recommendations, and follow-through for the appropriate liquidation strategy and final disposition agreement with the Borrower.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of managerial experience in commercial lending or workout environment
- 3 years bank regulatory experience
- Master-s degree

Basic Qualification:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent years of work experience
- 5-7 years experience in Commercial Lending
- 3 years managerial experience
- 3 years Special Asset loan workout environment experience
