Position: WAN / Telecommunications Architect--Posting

 

Description:
A Citadel Wan Architect's duties involve the review, validation, development and/or processing of Citadel telecommunication requirements from the High Frequency group for high resilient and low latency circuits between data centers and collocations in US and International. Analyze customer service requests and provide technical solutions/recommendations for low latency circuits in the major financial markets worldwide. This position will include identifying and verifying the appropriate low latency solution that may utilize any combination of telecommunication transmission mediums such as but not limited to: Fiber Optics, Local, Metropolitan, and/or Wide Area Networks (LAN/MAN/WAN), Ethernet (MPLS), Asynchronous (ATM) or SONET Dense Wave Division Multiplexed (DWDM) systems.

Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in fast-paced, aggressive companies
5 years experience in a telecoms contract management role
3 years experience in a telecoms circuit administration
3 years experience in managing the process of ordering and testing circuits
3 years experience in reviewing inside and outside fiber plant design of
Strong knowledge troubleshooting Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 issues
Strong knowledge of telecom gear and technologies
Fiber Optics
WAN architect; know BGP, OSPF, etc...
Local Area Networks (LAN)
Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN)
Wide Area Networks (WAN)
Ethernet (MPLS)
SONET
Dense Wave Division Multiplexed (DWDM) systems
Telecoms contract management
Telecoms circuit administration
Managing the process of ordering and testing circuits
Reviewing inside and outside fiber plant designs
Troubleshooting Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 issues
Telecommunications provisioning and local exchange carrier
Dark Fiber Services

Preferred:
Experience in the financial industry
Experience in a 24 x 7 global network environment
Experience knowledge of telecommunications provisioning and local exchange carrier practices
Experience in the Dark Fiber Services
Experience in deal with Telco Vendors and Collocation facilities
