This is an opportunity to join a major supplier of a diverse range of engineered rubber and bonded metal/ rubber composite products for the automotive, defence, transport, construction and industrial markets.
Reporting to the Warehouse Distribution Manager, you will be responsible for the processing and despatch of customer orders, receipt of inventory and supervision of the warehouse team.
In addition, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the following daily tasks and functions:
- Picking local and export orders including backorders
- Ensuring customer requirements are met in atimely manner
- Maintaining current customer database (Smart Freight)
- Assisting with inventory control and makingrecommendations in relation to product location, obsolete products and/or inventory discrepancies
- Training and coaching of new and existing employees
- Demonstrating a focus of continuous improvementthrough implementation of lean manufacturing principles including the SS Program
- Facilitating weekly team meetings
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a proven ability in leading/supervising a warehouse team as well as an understanding of warehousing principles. In addition, you will have a positive attitude and a ‘hands on’ approach.
