Position Overview:
The position is responsible for general cleanliness and housekeeping for assigned areas. Additional responsibilities include operation and area cleaning of shredders, compactor and baling equipment. Housekeeping responsibilities may include, but are not limited to cleaning the following: Finished goods, Shipping, Receiving, and MCF docks, Warehouse and IQA staging areas; All Related Offices, Bathrooms, Conference Rooms, Cafeterias/Break rooms, and Boiler/Electrical/Still Rooms.
Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
• General Warehouse
o Pick up paper, pieces of wood, banding material, cardboard, plastic wrap
o Keeps warehouse, receiving and shipping dock areas neat and tidy.
o Collects warehouse trash receptacles and deposits trash in large trash containers.
o Scrap skids/pallets properly stacked and away from all doors
o Performs other related duties as assigned
o Call for vendor pickup of shredded/waste materials
o Bale all cardboard
o Hose truck courts
• Office Areas / Conference Rooms / Cafeterias
o Vacuum all carpeted areas and sweep/mop/scrub all hard floors
o Clean all horizontal surfaces such as desk tops, table tops, and windowsills
o Empty garbage cans
o Clean vents, doors, windows
o Clean washrooms and locker rooms
o Ensure that cafeteria/break rooms are properly stocked with napkins, cups, etc.
o Clean tables/chairs
• Boiler/Electrical/Still Rooms
o Empty Trash
o Sweep and damp mop floors
o Clean WFI tanks
• Maintain the effectiveness of the Quality System.
• Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Education or Equivalent:
• High school diploma or GED
Experience:
• 1 year experience in a warehouse environment
• Certified forklift operator a plus, or be willing to train for certification
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
• Perform independent work related to projects and/or routine activities.
• Strong Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Possess and demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
• Well organized and detail and multi-task oriented.
• Must be able to interact effectively with a variety of individuals and personalities within and between departments.
• Should be familiar with cGMP and safe work practices.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day
• Frequent, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, reaching with hands and arms, turning, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen,
• Occasional sitting, climbing ladders/steps walking up inclines and uneven terrain, handling, grasping, writing, talking, listening
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds
