Job Title: Warehouse Manager
DGC Capital Constracting Corporation is a leader in the commerical contruction industry serving the retail and commercial markets.

Direct Reports: Drivers; Assistant Warehouse Manager; Warehouse Administrative Assistant; Tool Mechanic; Laborers

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for filling all field requests for material, tools and equipment to job sites.  Ensures material and equipment requests for projects are met in a timely manner.   Plans, organizes and monitors the delivery of material, equipment and tool orders coming from the Warehouse to individual job sites that they are complete, in good order and on time. Manages all purchasing/leasing of material, equipment and tools and ensures the timely delivery of all outside purchasing to the job site.  Manages expectations and resolves issues using good people and communications skills. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Material and Equipment Orders

 

1.      Takes and receives material, tool and equipment orders from field personnel; fax or email. Confirms material and equipment requirements, delivery time and location with Foreman and places vendor orders to ensure field order is complete. Orders need to be filled from warehouse stock whenever possible. Only material that is in good condition is to be sent to the job.  Any damaged material needs to be discarded.

2.      Ensures that all deliveries are complete and accurate before they leave warehouse.

3.      Ensures that Bill of Lading is written and all equipment disbursed has been logged out using the tracking tool technology.

4.      Selects best truck to use for the set of deliveries being scheduled.

5.      Makes sure trucks are loaded safely and orderly.

6.      Establishes delivery routing schedule with drivers to maximize efficiency.

7.      Fills out a purchase order document in accordance procedures established for the accounting system for any materials purchased or rented from a third party.

8.      Solicits and negotiates pricing from vendors.

9.      Places orders with vendors and suppliers.

10.  Coordinates the delivery of orders to job site or office as required.

11.  Determines which orders can be filled from warehouse stock.

12.  Submits purchase order and related documents to accounting to be matched with invoices.

13.  Reviews purchase orders with accounting when discrepancies arise.

14.  Assists with various other project needs as requested.

15.  Maintains updates MSDS in binder for all materials stored in warehouse.

16.  Updates vendor pricing in database.

 

 

 

Warehouse Maintenance

 

1.      Ensures warehouse is kept neat, organized and inventoried at all times.

2.      Oversees the restocking of all materials from completed projects.

3.      Keeps the warehouse stocked with a sufficient amount of tools, safety items, and essential material (plastic, sweeping compound screws, caulk, fasteners, shims, PPE etc.) stock to be able to fill a tool order or a material order at short notice.

4.      Warehouse Offices Work Shop Parking Lots:

o       All facilities are to be kept clean safe and secure at all times.

o       Leaks are to be prevented by keeping all gutters, down spouts air condition drains etc. free at all times.

o       All exterior doors and required interior to be locked at end of every day.

o       Only company material and equipment to be kept in the warehouse yard and parking lot.

o       Snow needs to be removed as soon as it falls provisions need to be made for weekend removal.

o        

Vehicle Maintenance

 

  1. Ensures service schedule for all trucks, whether serviced in-house or out-sourced, are being maintained.
  2. Ensures trucks are maintained and serviced according to their respective maintenance schedules.

 

Equipment Maintenance

 

  1. Ensures service schedule for all forklifts, scissor lifts, tools and equipment, whether serviced in-house or out-sourced, are being maintained.
  2. Ensures a tools and equipment are been services as needed, and logs and files for each are being maintained.

 

New Project Mobilization

 

  1. Ensures gang box has necessary tools and equipment.
  2. Ensures gang box are being loaded with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  3. Includes “project binders” with appropriate MSDS sheets obtained from project manager.

 

 

Returned Tools and Equipment

  1. Ensures tools are checked when they come back from the field to ensure they are in a good safe working order. Put tools that are working properly away and tools that are not working properly in for repair or discard of.
  2. Inspects returned tools and equipment from jobsite and ensure that nothing is missing from original shipment.
  3. Updates status in tool tracking software.
  4. Oversees the Mechanic to ensure gang boxes, tools and equipment are inspected and re-conditioned prior to going into storage.
  5. Directs mechanic to perform necessary repairs.
  6. Reports any and all damage to Director of Construction immediately. Reports any and all unnecessary abuse of tools or company equipment.

 

Safety

 

  1. Ensures a hazard-free environment and enforce OSHA and DOT compliance.
  2. Enforces safe work practices in the warehouse and yard.

 

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

A.    One to three years experience managing a warehouse in a construction environment. 

B.     High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

C.     Ability to manage, professionally develop, train and motivate staff effectively.

D.    Knowledge of Windows (pc); Microsoft Word; database knowledge.

E.     Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

F.      Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with field personnel and outside supply vendors.

G.    Excellent organizational skills.

H.    Ability to work as a team with Warehouse Personnel, field staff  and other internal departments and senior management.

I.        Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently.
