SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for directing, and controlling warehouse activities. Oversee general warehouse and delivery operations at a branch level. Insure a high degree of customer service, and look for ways to improve processes and efficiencies. Managing and encouraging optimal performance of all direct reports, including training. Ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
· Manage warehouse staff activities in receiving, picking, shipping, inventory control, and loading of materials.
· Hire, train and develop as a hands-on warehouse manager while leading motivating others.
· Establish performance goals and customer service levels for warehouse operations
· Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of all equipment and vehicles.
· Develop and implement opportunities for process improvement, cost saving, leverage of technology, and improved service within the distribution network.
· Trouble shoot and problem solve distribution related problems and issues with the intention of finding safe cost effective solutions.
· Maintain ISO procedures and implement corrective actions
· Coordinate freight (carriers couriers) and manage vendors to strict performance and cost expectations
· Maintain all work scheduling and vacation schedules for warehouse staff.
· Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing Company and Ministry standards and following up on regular inspections.
· Other duties as required.
