Warehouse Manager Job in Nashville 37207, Tennessee US

Reagents Fine Chemicals and Chemical Solutions is seeking a hands-on, hard-working, and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Warehouse Manager for our Nashville, TN facility.  The candidate will manage all receiving and shipping activities with an emphasis on timeliness, accuracy, and safety.  The candidate should possess at least 5 years minimum of distribution and warehouse management.  This experience must include receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipment of products.  Experience working within a multi-facility company is desired.  As well, the candidate must have strong knowledge of warehouse and inventory practices and procedures.  These include systems to keep accurate inventory and perform cycle counts.  Knowledge of GMP guidelines for storage and inventory movement is desirable.  As well, the candidate must have knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations, be or be able to become HazMat certified, have familiarity of MSDS records, and be experienced in working with returned and damaged goods.  In addition, the candidate must have knowledge of hazardous material clean-up and disposal.  The candidate must be able to create written procedure and SOPS.  The candidate must have strong skills in warehouse design, organization, and space utilization.  As well, the candidate will be responsible for preventive maintenance on the facility and equipment.  In addition, the candidate must be able to initiate and maintain a proper safety program for the facility.  The candidate will be responsible for supervising a small distribution staff.  As such, the candidate must be able to design, collect, and monitor key performance metrics.  The candidate must keep the warehouse environment safe and clean at all times.  The candidate must be efficient in Office applications, shipping software, and inventory/ERP systems.   This position also participates in projects as needed to help achieve interdepartmental and individual goals. 

This position requires strong communication skills.  The candidate must respect all internal and external customers and commit to exceeding the customer’s needs and expectations.   The candidate must follow through on commitments and promises.  Therefore, the ability to multi-task and prioritize is essential.  The candidate must support change initiatives in order to maintain and grow the competitive position of the company.  The candidate must be able to work within a team and share information, resources, and ideas with other team members.   Continuous improvement is a must, so the candidate must be willing to participate in training sessions, both as student and teacher. 

Qualifications

Associate Degree required or 10 years of related work experience.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  3-5 years working within a distribution/warehousing department of a manufacturing company.  Must have a strong knowledgeable of warehouse best practices and transportation functions, including compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.  A chemical background is preferred.  Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. consistently.

Must have sound command of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.  Understanding and proficiency working within a computerized environment is required.
