**WAREHOUSE SHIFT MANAGER - FMCG - DARTFORD - £29,000 TO £33,000 DEPEDNING ON EXPERIENCE + BONUS + BENEFITS - REPORTING TO THE OPERATIONS MANAGER - EXCELLENT CAREER PROSPECTS**
Our client is a major retail business in the FMCG sector. They are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager to their distribution centre near Dartford. Employing almost 600 people on site, this is a large scale, fast paced logistics operation, offering a competitive package and excellent career prospects for the right candidate.
ROLE
- You will be responsible for managing a team of shift section managers and up to 90 warehouse operatives covering this 24/7 operation.
- You will be tasked will building and delivering a workable and efficient plan for the shift to ensure both that the business KPI's are adhered to, and equally importantly that your team is kept feeling engaged and motivated
- You will be tasked with collating information and enforcing best practise to achieve KPI's and maximise all resources to deliver the most cost effective solution.
- You will work with the management team across all departments to improve site performance through effective people management, and build relationships with the workforce and union body.
- You will contribute towards site and process improvement initiatives, maximise space utilisation within the warehouse, ensure efficient rotation of stock is achieved and monitor site and warehouse activity to ensure best utilisation of staff and equipment is achieved at all times.
EXPERIENCE
THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THE POSITION.
- You will have managed large scale warehouse operations within an FMCG environment, preferably multi-temperature.
- You will be PC literate with experience of WMS systems, have excellent coaching, influencing and communication skills and have a "Can Do" customer centric approach.
- You will be an excellent man-manager who leads by example and is able to adapt quickly and effectively to operational issues.
- You will be competent and willing to take the next step up the career ladder, being able to deputise for the operations manage when needed.
- This is a fast paced and dynamic environment, and you will need to be an energetic, focussed and targeted individual with a passion to succeed and a willingness to progress within the role, and the business.
