Job Title: Warehouse Shift Manager

 


Location: Wolverhampton

 


Reporting to: Operations Manager

 


Warehouse Shift Manager required on a permanent basis for well established leader in the logistics market. Based at our Wolverhampton depot you will report to the Operations Manager.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

-       Manage the warehouse operation to receive goods accurately and deliver safe, accurate and efficient picking loading of products to customers.

-       Carry out stock counts and manage the control of products.

-       Direct motivate and develop the management team to equip them with the skills to effectively lead and manage their teams.

-       Ensure all staff are fully trained and have the correct equipment.

-       Accountable for all tasks that the Operations Manager delegates to the team.

-       Responsible for cascading communication throughout the warehouse operations and ensure that team briefings include KPIs for staff accountability.

-       Propose, agree and implement service standard agreements for products with customers in conjunction with other areas of the business.

-       Consider proposals and implementation of improvement methods in regard to staff, operational changes to warehousing and associated activities which will improve efficiency or levels of performance.

-       Ensure a secure and safe environment for staff and products.

-       Compile accident statistics which in turn are used to implement improvements for Health Safety.

-       Support the company in regard to reducing its carbon footprint, for example recycling initiatives.

 

 


Skills Competencies:

-       Significant warehousing and distribution experience in an FMCG environment.

-       Planning and organising skills with a high level of numeracy.

-       Excellent negotiating skills with the ability to influence and steer.

-       Leadership and motivational qualities and proven experience of building a team.

-       An effective communicator at all levels, good verbal and written skills.

-       Personal motivation and confidence resulting in a positive impact.

-       Genuine team player, a firm and confident manager who is skilled at setting clear objectives and motivating their team.

Shift Pattern:

 


45 hour week, rotating days and nights, 7 day a week cover to the warehouse operation.
