WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

•  Supervise all warehouse employees according to proper policies and procedures
•  Balance staff for all operational areas to achieve both inbound and outbound service requirements/standards
•  Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service and safety
•  Monitor work flow, work completed, error rates and related metrics and take appropriate action when required
•  See that all procedures are observed, implemented and enforced and training is provided when necessary
•  Monitor the quality and inspection process to ensure they're accurate and identify ways to streamline the process to eliminate cost
•  Help maintain a safe working environment at all times and see that appropriate safety regulations are followed
•  Ensure that warehouse employees receive appropriate training for all phases of their job responsibilities
•  Ensure that accurate time, attendance and performance counseling records are maintained
•  Maintain positive employee relations and morale and enforce disciplinary action as required
•  Assist in developing and documenting warehouse processes
•  Establish and monitor performance standards for all warehouse functions, including, but not be limited to, equipment and housekeeping; assembly / value-added production; pick, pack, and ship orders; process returned merchandise, etc.
•  Develop and implement training certification programs

Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•  Strong knowledge of inventory control processes; knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products preferred
•  Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
•  Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
•  Keen on detail and able to learn and use business planning systems
•  Ability to work in a team environment while managing one’s own time and the time of others
•  Willingness to adapt to changing situations while performing multiple tasks simultaneously
•  Ability to anticipate and prepare for customer needs
•  Ability to operate hand / power tools and equipment 

EXPERIENCE

•  Minimum of 1 year experience in supervising employees
•  Prior experience with forklift operation and warehousing/distribution preferred

EDUCATION

•  High school diploma required
