Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor Job in South Bend 46601, Indiana US
Fortune 500 Food Mfg/Distribution company is seeking an experienced Shipping/Warehouse Supervisor in the Northern IN area in a mid-sized food Distribution Center.
Position Purpose: To provide optimal level of customer service while meeting company objectives of quality and cost.
Principal Responsibilities:
Maintain quality and integrity of finished product though supervision of personnel in labeling, cleaning, wrapping and handling of finished product. Ensure proper refrigerated storage of all product and proper date rotation
Maintain safe work environment by training and directing employee to work safely.
Maintain proper sanitation, maintenance, and housekeeping conditions throughout the warehouse.
Analyze new methods and procedure to improve efficiency of operations. Suggest changes that may result in improved quality, service and efficiency.
Enforce all terms of the union contract and company work rules.
Ensure that all loads are properly loaded, counted and verified to assure error free customer service.
Schedule work to minimize cost and overtime, while being certain that trucks are loaded in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records and controls as requested.
Perform monthly inventory audits.
Other duties as directed by department manager.
Requirements:
To be considered, this person must have:
A 4 year degree(BS/BA)
3-5 years experience as a warehouse/shipping supervisor
Food Distribution experience
Good leadership skills
