Warehouse/Supply Chain Manager/Global Transportation Job in Warsaw, Indiana US

Job Summary

Responsible for managing global transportation network in cost effective, compliant, and secure manner. Works with global operations counterparts and third party carriers and freight forwarders including all modes of transportation (Parcel, LTL, FTL, Ocean Air) to develop optimal freight solution.

Principal Duties Responsibilities
-Experience working with Supply Chain to redesign flow of product to optimize service, inventory and transport costs.
-Experience managing rate contracts, selection of freight providers and RFP#s, ensuring that all carriers are in full compliance.
-Responsible for Safety, Legal and Regulatory compliance ensuring all Federal, State and contractual regulations are met.
-Responsible for strategic planning, metrics, transportation execution and change implementation and management.
-Requires working knowledge of all aspects of parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean and air distribution, and Intermodal transportation.
-Primary point of contact to resolve unexpected issues such as significant service delays, importation issues, freight claims, and security breaches.
-Oversee freight payment processes and strategic sourcing and contracting with global transportation providers.
-Manage a team of both direct and indirect reports.

-Able to resolve importation issues with governmental agencies: FDA, Customs, and USDA

-Demonstrates a high sense of urgency, and is capable of working with minimal direct supervision.
-Effective oral and written communications.
-Proficiency with computers using Microsoft Office Suite, SQL and statistical analysis; advance knowledge of distribution, inventory and business systems.
-Has ability to build and develop professional relationships both internally and externally with customers.

Education/Experience Requirements

-Bachelor#s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering or other technical field is required.
-An MBA is desirable.
-Seven (7) plus years experience in Supply Chain Management focused on Transportation and Global Logistics with five (5) years in an industry best supply chain organization.
-A minimum of three (5) years experience supervising.
