Warranty Engineer Job in Erie, Pennsylvania US
CDI offers a full range of outsourcing solutions and professional staffing to the North American Aerospace, Transportation and Technology markets. We are currently searching for a Warranty Engineer for one of our largest transportation industry clients. This is will be for a contract position in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
1. Provide analysis and reporting of defective parts working with supplier.
2. Rectify discrepancies with supplier
3. Collaborate with suppliers and CSC (customer service center) team to disposition returned part (i.e. supplier caused, field caused, premature removal).
4. Monitor and track returned shipments from CSCs and Customers.
5. Work with supplier, engineering, and quality to identify improvement projects.
Required Skills
· Strong Mechanical Aptitude
· Strong Problem Solving/Process acumen
· Minimum of 3 years of supplier quality / manufacturing experience
· Analytical and problem solving skills (Six Sigma, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis preferred)
· Experience with manufacturing processes and inspection techniques
· Must be willing to travel 75% time
· Ability to read and make references to schematics
Deliverables
1. Provide weekly updates (executive summary format) of results from disposition process and observations.
2. Create product to transaction linkage utilizing eServices system to correlate returned parts to removal reasons
3. Train all involved parties on derived process
4. Develop, document and implementation of data collection process and reporting.
