We are searching for Warranty Services Supervisor who will be responsible for the investigation and analysis of product quality, durability and installation issues of roofing products. This requires coordination compiling of testing and technical information/support data to properly substantiate and assign “root cause” to warranty claims. The Warranty Claims Materials Analysis Specialist will work closely with RD, Quality and Manufacturing to perform failure analyses of roofing components and systems. This individual, at times, will work with contractors and company field sales personnel to conduct on-site inspections for sampling and installation workmanship assessments. There will be 2 lab technicians who will be direcly reporting to this individual.  In addition, this individual will need to issue monthly reports, including analyzing data for claim trends. Coupled with data from analyses, this information will be used when considering changes to product designs/architecture.

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

 

·         Planning and execution of all technical analyses to establish “root cause” for  material/system complaints failures, as well as recommended course of corrective action to be taken

·         Conduct field inspections for sampling and workmanship evaluation

·         Review material test and claims analysis reports claims to evaluate trends that may require design changes

·         Provide accurate documentation of all inspection and lab work completed including: work logs by claim types; trip reports; specification/quality document logs

·         Perform statistical analysis of warranty information to focus on specific quality issues

·         Assist in coordinating, documenting, tracking, and resolving warranty claims campaigns, and corrective and preventive actions

·         Assist in administering/improving the claims management computer database system ensuring the integrity of documents, forms, data, and reports

·         Review and prepare the disposition of materials and components for quality testing or failure analysis

·         Gather, compile, analyze, and prepare warranty control reports

·         Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

·         Develop and interpret technical documents, specifications, and procedures

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities include:

·            Minimize the incidence of misappropriated or unjustified warranty claims

Job Requirements:

A Bachelors Degree in materials science, chemistry, engineering or a related field, coupled with 4-6 years construction inspection experience to include one year direct supervisory or technical lead experience in an administrative capacity. Additionally, experience in modern residential/commercial construction principles, practices and terminology; Principles and techniques of composite failure analysis and materials testing ;   fundamental engineering and physics principles. Ability to supervise, direct and coordinate the work of lower level staff; ability to prepare clear and concise reports. 

 Knowledge of warranty programs; knowledge of statistical methods and quality cost data analysis    Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.   Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels of personnel.  Ability to manage time/workload, setting priorities and using good follow-through, delegate effectively and to make decisions using sound judgment.
