Job Description

Supports the daily activities of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) emergency operations center in Washington, DC. Specific tasks include: monitor news, National Warning System, and other reporting systems for events requiring Departmental action and/or reporting to higher authority; prepare journals, briefings, and situation updates; coordinate with homeland security oriented agencies and offices; maintain databases; assist with writing contingency plans and operating procedures; support the conduct of emergency preparedness training.
Required:
- At least 3 years experience.
- Baccalaureate degree with good research, verbal and written communications skills. Additional years experience may substitute.
- Current Top Secret clearance or have held a Top Secret clearance within the past two years. SCI eligible.
- Proficient in the use of computers and commonly used software packages (e.g., MS Office Suite).
- Ability to work and maintain a professional demeanor in emergency situations.
- Prefer knowledge of Emergency Management Operations environments or prior disaster response work.
