Supports the daily activities of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) emergency operations center in Washington, DC. Specific tasks include: monitor news, National Warning System, and other reporting systems for events requiring Departmental action and/or reporting to higher authority; prepare journals, briefings, and situation updates; coordinate with homeland security oriented agencies and offices; maintain databases; assist with writing contingency plans and operating procedures; support the conduct of emergency preparedness training.
