WATER PLANT OPERATOR/SENIOR WATER PLANT OPERATOR $6,328.40-$8,105.07(Water Plant Operator) monthly-based on a seven-step salary plan $6,987.07-$8,944.00(Senior Water Plant Operator) monthly-based on a seven-step salary plan Duties: To perform the duties of a state-designated shift operator in the monitoring and operation of the Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center (SVAWPC). The SVAWPC is a new advanced recycled water treatment facility which will be operated by the Santa Clara Valley Water District. Micro-filtration, reverse osmosis, and ultraviolet light will be used to treat nitrified secondary effluent from the San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) to produce a high-purity recycled water. The high-purity water will then be blended with WPCP disinfected tertiary effluent to reduce the salinity of the recycled water supplied to the customers of South Bay Water Recycling. The operator position will be integrally involved in the startup of the facility, and will regularly interact with the WPCP staff during startup and the ongoing operation of the SVAWPC. The SVAWPC will be staffed during day-time working hours seven days a week.
