WB Legal Counsel (6-month contract) recruitment

Job Description

The key role is to analyse and define the business requirements globally across the bank's Regulatory, Risk and Compliance business infrastructure related to FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act).

This includes defining and gaining agreement on position statements such as foreign financial institution definition, diligent review, exclusions, electronic search criteria, impact assessment, business process standardization definitions and delivering relevant the FATCA business requirements, processes, plans and costing for implementation by country/ segment for global WB.

Key Roles Responsibilities

* Develop WB policies and procedures designed to manage the risk of breaches of regulatory requirements related to FATCA
* Develop a framework for Compliance Risk Monitoring for FATCA.
- Acting as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teams for the WB Legal Compliance (L C) function.
* Ensure that compliance policies and procedures are clearly communicated to WB management.
* Working closely with Origination Client Coverage (OCC) and FATCA program team to implement new systems as required.
- corporate and contribute in collection of the project's L C business requirements and transferring the same knowledge to relevant teams e.g. design, development teams.
- Prepare accurate, detailed requirement specifications documents and documenting the acquired results of analysis and workflows as well as obtaining sign-off from the appropriate stakeholders. This includes areas such as, electronic search, account opening, KYC / AML, due diligence terms conditions, alerts for new US persons.
- Communicate with internal teams and or relevant parties to deliver agreed functional requirements
- Support WB Senior Compliance Advior in coordinating with the groups of business unit who test, validate, evaluate new capabilities and functions, and determine issues in services and operations.
* Managing any change requests related to the working project plans daily to meet the agreed deadlines
* Assist Senior WB Compliance Manager to implement controls in relation to all new legal and regulatory developments relevant to WB.

Qualifications Skills

* Educational background to degree level
* Qualified Lawyer in a common law jurisdiction
* Must have some relevant tax laws work experience within banks
