Overview: The Analytics Team enables and empowers the macys.com organization with analytic insight to support planning, tactical execution and optimization of the customer experience. The Web Analyst is responsible for supporting the Merchant and Marketing teams with reporting and analysis. This position is instrumental in development and delivery of business intelligence and presenting actionable reporting and analysis to support business decision makers. Additionally, this position will work with development teams to instrument site content. Key Accountabilities: Utilize web analytics tool to answer business questions and report findings to key decision makers. Develop and publish reports and dashboards for Marketing and Merchandising teams as well as external vendors. Produce ad hoc analysis requested by internal customer teams. Provide insights and recommendations for improving online marketing campaigns through analysis of marketing channel performance. Support the Merchandising team to identify opportunities for improved product placement and navigation through analysis of site clickstream data. Work with development and creative teams to instrument site content to capture and report data through web analytics tool. Support administration of web analytics tool to improve data quality and optimize functionality of tool for internal users. Support and train internal users of web analytics tool. Stay current on trends and best practices in web analytics and e-commerce. Automate production and delivery of reports and dashboards. Skills Summary: BA/BS Degree Mathematics, Statistics, Business or other quantitative field preferred or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of experience with reporting and data analysis. Experience using data to develop business insights and recommendations. Experience with web analytics software (Coremetrics, Omniture, etc.) preferred. Experience with Tableau a plus. Have an interest in e-commerce, digital marketing, and website operations. Have strong analytic skills as well as the ability to learn new concepts and software applications quickly and efficiently. Possess strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail. Be a highly motivated self-starter. Candidate must be comfortable working independently to achieve a successful result with minimal guidance. Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal customers across the organization. Have strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting in front of a group. Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Confidently handle multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines. Have inclination and ability to solve complex problems.
