NVIDIA is seeking a person in this position will be responsible for providing operations, maintenance and support to NVIDIA's Business applications, Web Applications and related eco system. The applications environment consists of many different platforms with Microsoft and LAMP technologies being most widely used platform. There are intranet and extranet applications, packaged/custom, internal and external websites/portals. Day to day responsibilities include providing production support, being part of on-call rotation, attending help requests, installations, configurations, debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, working on application design and deployment projects, change management, daily performance and availability monitoring, provide level 1-2 support, provide response and resolution to application incidents, engineering and deployment of application updates, maintenance of associated standards and operational procedural documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Continually monitor and tune application infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability and utilization of resources
- Respond to monitoring alerts to quickly identify trouble source and implement resolution to avoid or reduce duration of an outage
- Provide support and troubleshooting to resolve issues impacting application operations
- Engineer and deploy releases, enhancements, and upgrades or new applications throughout non-production and production environments
- As needed for new infrastructure, install and configure middleware and custom/vendor application software to build new environments
- Maintain thorough knowledge of application design and engineering principles and applications within team's portfolio
- Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operations
- Develop corresponding operations and support procedures for application operations
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 or more years of strong experience as web/application administrator with expertise in Microsoft platform and LAMP platform
- Strong experience in IT-related systems implementation, operations, and support roles
- Keen understanding of various disciplines and technologies such as Web, directory services, directory synchronization, security, databases, networking, infrastructure, and application administration is the key to this position
- Strong experience and Web Server Knowledge - IIS7, IIS6, Apache, Java
- Excellent work experience in administering applications running on PHP, ASP/.Net applications, Java, PHP, ASP 3.0 platforms
- Keen understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems, Database Platform expertise: MySQL, MS SQL,
- Java and J2EE Application server experience. Specifically Tomcat, JBoss and Weblogic Servers
- Knowledge of application networking, firewalls, load balancing applications, fault tolerance for applications.
- Experience and ability to reverse engineer systems for troubleshooting, root cause analysis
- Experience in using monitoring systems like Sitescope, Orion, SCOM
- Effective written and oral communication skills (must be able to articulate technical designs, strategies, and problems to management)
- Experience in using different testing tools, scripting and automation skills
- A strong team player, self motivated, self starter and with a great "get it done" work attitude
