Web Application Developer

Our Toronto based client is looking for a Web Application Developer with 5 years experience

The Web Application Developer will be responsible for the creation of infrastructure utilizing web technologies. It is an exciting opportunity where the candidate will create a dynamic web system from scratch that will enhance the automation of several critical processes within company.
As a Web developer, you are an expert in using the dynamic programming tools and languages that fuel the Web. You will be part of a small team to build and design interactive web sites, applications, and services for use on client's intranet. Your role is to make it work, which means developing Web applications and testing them on various browsers, enhancing and modifying them as necessary to ensure the best experience for the user. As a web developer, you will also architect websites, design data-driven applications, and find efficient client-server solutions. You must have an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle and be able to communicate project status, issues, and resolutions. The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities. A candidate for this position must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Translate our needs into a functional system that consists of:
- Database schema design
- Web UI Design
- Architecting web services

Communicating with various groups to determine:
- Desired UI functionality and needs
- Implementing feedback from users

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Related field
We are looking for candidates with understanding and experience with the following languages, concepts, tools, and frameworks:
Complex Database Schema Design (Inheritance, EAV)
MVC Architecture (esp. MVC frameworks such as Django)
Javascript/AJAX (experience with Javascript libraries such as Dojo is required)
Web Service technologies (i.e. JSON)
HTML
Python
SQL (or MySQL)
Apache Server
