Web Content Specialist
The University of New Haven’s Marketing and Enrollment Communications Department has an open position for a full-time Web Content Specialist who will assist with the strategic creation, revision, and management of creative content for the University of New Haven website.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for training, directing, and maintaining regular contact with content authors for the University’s website – encouraging consistent participation.
• Acts as a key member of the Web Content Council; responsible for meeting with key academic members insuring content within their respective areas is relevant, current, and engaging.
• Acts as an internal consultant for departments developing sections of the University website.
• Works closely with students in the Web Student Employment Program – monitoring weekly progress and advising students as needed.
• Works closely with internal creative staff.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
• Previous experience with creating, writing, editing, and posting content to websites.
• 1-2 years of experience working in a Content Management System environment or relevant knowledge
• Experience and understanding of various Internet standards such as: HTML, XTML, XML, Java Script, Java, PHP, CSS
• Detailed-orientated critical thinker, with an ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills
• Experience with social media and video production in a higher-ed or advertising agency environment a plus.
