Position Responsibilities
The WEB DESIGN TEAM LEADER functions as the lead UX/UI Designer for browser-based web experiences, focusing on holistic approaches to solving complex customer situations. The right person will strike a balance between creative and analytical thinking, lead concept development, analysis and visualization of user research and provide user interface designs that meet the goals set forth by the teams. Good communication skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment are a must to lead this busy team.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
CREATE
• Leads the web product design team in producing visual design, wireframes, site maps and other forms of interaction design documents
• Tactically addresses and advocates for the Verizon customer experience
• Responsible for accomplishing and maintaining the quality of design throughout all phases of a project
• Stays on top of current trends in the digital space
MANAGE
• Documents design process used to achieve the desired interaction design for the projects
• Works with the Creative Director and Art Directors to ensure the user experience meets their needs and the client's expectations
• Works with the Development team to ensure the interaction design and translates into fully functioning interactive experiences
• Participates constructively in inter-department and cross-service line communications
• Manages the production schedule for a very busy in-house corporate web design shop (IA, Visual Design, Front end development)
• Attends and contributes to business meetings/requirements sessions
• Creates and executes project work plans and LOE estimates
• Works with the Creative Directors to identify specific resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
• Reviews deliverables prepared by team before delivery to ensure requirements have been met
Required Skills Experience
- 10 Years of experience in web-based interaction and visual design
- Bachelor's degree in the Arts and/or equivalent work experience (First consideration will be given to those candidates who hold a degree)
- A solid and creative on-line portfolio showcasing innovative concepts and interactive design solutions
- Has experience reporting status directly to senior level executives
- Has proven record of successfully managing large, mid-scale and small-scale projects on their own, including full website builds
- Ability to produce advanced visual design and thorough wireframe models
- In-depth understanding of interaction design for web-based platforms
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and web browser capabilities (emphasis on HTML 5 and CSS 3)
- Solid working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop through CS4
- An understanding of multimedia capabilities
