This position will be responsible for contributing specialized technical knowledge in web application development efforts. Will participate in all phases of development cycle. Must be familiar with Web 2.0 technologies, including HTML 5, IIS configuration, Ajax, MVC patterns, ASP.NET, jQuery.
Will work with Development Team to meet technical expectations and goals
Will have responsibility for one or more technical aspects of development
Participate in routine product builds.
Participate in design and code reviews.
Participate in internal testing to identify problems early, perform error and stress scenarios.
Identify and recommend where new technologies may be incorporated
Will work with Technical Architects to aid in the design of the system
Participate in requirement gathering sessions with business users and Technical Architects
Translate business needs into concise business requirements
Write technical designs to ensure that they are consistent with NWP standards and that they meet our business needs
Develop and code solutions that meet the requirements.
Research root causes of system failures and determine appropriate corrective action
Develop tools and scripts to automate business processes and assist in recovery due to system errors
Drive innovative solutions that achieve business and operational efficiencies in support of NWPs business objectives, strategies, and goals
Adhere to the Technology Management Committee (TMC) Policies and Standards
Strong oral and written communication skills
Exceptional analytical skills
SQL, reporting, and programming skills
Experience with C#, SQL, JavaScript/Ajax, Web Services, XML, HTML5, jQuery, ASP.NET (MVC and WebForms)
Design experience is a plus meaning graphic layouts, image manipulation and creation, user interface layout, etc.
Experience defining technical expectations and goals of projects
Development experience with Microsoft web technologies and database programming
Demonstrated interest in, knowledge of, and enthusiasm for Internet technologies
Must be analytical, flexible, innovative, and self-motivated
Must be able to succeed in a dynamic team environment and be open to overtime when necessary
System design and architecture experience
Outstanding team player
Thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks
Experience in systems development and production support environments
Consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in execution of responsibilities
Overtime may be required to meet departmental deadlines
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science desired
