Summary of Position:

 

A Web Developer is required for our I.T. department for developing, maintaining and supporting the van lines’ Intranet and Extranet web sites as well as other in-house developed applications using various web-based technologies. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

·         Requirement gathering design of new applications

·         Participation in the creation of system-level design diagrams and component level design diagrams

·         Preparation of project plans and producing programming specifications

·         Coding, testing and debugging new software

·         Maintaining existing systems

Roles, responsibilities and duties may evolve and change over time.

 

Minimum qualifications skills:

 

·         University Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology

·         5 years of application development experience (3 yrs direct internet development)

·         ASP ASP.NET development (C#, .NET 4.0, Visual Studio 2010)

·         Involvement in the full software development life cycle

·         Proven experience as a web developer/designer using hand-coded HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, VB Script

·         Strong knowledge of database design, architecture and relational databases

·         Experience working with AS400 iSeries an asset

·         Experience managing multiple projects at one time with an ability to meet deadlines

·         Strong analytic skills and an interest in developing an understanding of the underlying business requirements of the software

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills

·         Detail oriented, with strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
