Job Description:
Build standards-compliant, tableless sites from designs supplied by our graphics team in PSD format. Most sites will be built using open-source CMS tools such as Drupal and WordPress. Create customized Javascripts and PHP modules to enhance these platforms. “Think outside the box” and work with our management team to develop clever solutions that make our sites more engaging, useful and cost-effective
Skills/Experience required:
- At least five years web development and programming experience, with at least two years of either full-time freelance or agency experience.
- Knowledge of CMS systems - Drupal, Magento, Joomla, and WordPress
- Standards-compliant HTML
- CSS and table-less design layouts
- Javascript, jQuery
- PHP
- MySQL
- GIT and/or SVN
- Comfortable working in Local, Development, Staging, and Production server environments.
Additional Skills/Experience:
- DNS and Domain management
- Plesk and Cpanel
- AWS
- SOLR
- Varnish
- API creation and integration
- Working knowledge of MVC and OOP concepts.
- Must be up-to-the-minute on web development standards and best practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Great communication skills are a must.
- Solid computer skills and comfort level with online communication tools such as Harvest, Redmine, Basecamp, Google Docs and Google calendar.
Education:
- College degree in web development or programming preferred, but experience and results are what matters most to us!
