Position Title: Web Hosting Middeware Analyst
Job Description: On behalf of our large, financial services client, PROCOM is searching for a Web Hosting Middleware Analyst. As part of a team- you will be responsible for supporting highly available intranet/internet websites to ensure performance, availability and stability of the systems. Will be required to perform web application (Weblogic, IIS, Apache, etc.) consulting and analysis, as well as deploying, configuring, and tuning of web applications on Windows WIN2K/WIN2K3 and Unix (Solaris 8/9/10); maintaining connectivity to SQL and Oracle databases; troubleshooting, reacting to service outages, service updates, security concerns and other issues.
We are looking for candidates that have indepth UNIX, Windows Admin and web application (Weblogic, IIS, Apache) experience - A MUST. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience working within a large scale enterprise environment (Canada-wide) experience with change management, incident problems. There will be an on-call work rotation element to this role as the team requires 24x7 support for corporate internal/external websites (off-hours and weekends – once every every 4 weeks).
This is very much a technical function role - experience working in a project oriented environments that are very high demand/high pressure environments.
Major Accountability:
· Preparation of and deploying BEA Weblogic and Windows Applications
· Gathering and analyzing project requirements and identifying, estimating and tracking deliverables
· Trouble shooting problems (such as environment, hardware, software, performance, etc.)
· System capacity planning and proactive maintenance, and analyzing development server performance
· Creating and maintaining documentation in support of infrastructure and coordinating and scheduling environment upgrades
· Building and managing working relationships with external vendors
· Providing consultation and analysis to identify process improvements to reduce test time and cost as well as improve quality, accuracy and efficiency
Must Have Skills: A minimum of 5 yrs experience required in this capacity including;
· 5 years of BEA Weblogic Portal experience (at least 3 years using v8.x or 9.x1 and minimum 2 months using v10.x)
· Excellent UNIX (AIX preferred) experience
· Excellent Windows Server 2000 and 2003 admin experience
· Working knowledge of SQL, Oracle
· Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to ask probing questions to understand the various concepts presented/discussed
· Excellent communication skills
· Demonstrated Problem Solving Skills- must work well independently and within a team, demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and have an in-depth knowledge of all Windows operating systems
· University degree/college diploma in related discipline(s) or equivalent work experience, and/or 5 years in IT industry experience
Nice To Have Skills:
· Some experience, or combination of experience in the following: IIS, Apache/Tomcat/ColdFusion, SiteMinder/Sitescope and e-commerce web development Java/J2EE/.NET
· Some project leadership and negotiation experience
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Duration: 6 month initial contract
Rate: Negotiable, based on experience
